Job Function:

Optimize the process flow of general cargo, bulk, and RoRo terminals, as well as other goods, between land and sea transport by increasing efficiency and productivity. GC Vessel Supervisor Job Vacancy at DP World

Key Accountabilities:

1. Lead, motivate, and constantly activate personnel under his supervision.
   Exchange information briefly.
2. Participate in the vessel’s berthing schedule and quay planning as needed for business purposes.
3. Set priorities in sequenced work by calamities and take decisions to stop and restart operations, taking into consideration all safety norms.
4. Lead the ship and related terminal operations (Cargo stowage – Cargo delivery, horizontal transport etc.)
5. Take regular rounds in the quay to monitor the vessel operations.
6. Bear out and propagate the terminal policy, and give it form.
7. Please ensure that all safety regulations are strictly adhered to for all equipment.
8. Ensure all relevant data for cargo quantity moving through the gate is properly recorded.
9. Could you supervise the handling of heavy lift or oversize cargoes in the container terminal?
10. Maximize the usage of quay equipment to achieve maximum productivity in vessel and quay-side operation.
11. Coordinate landside points of work when a vessel is in working operations.
12. Adhere strictly to all work procedures. (SOP)
13. Handle any other task as allocated by GC & Bulk Superintendent.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Shipping and Logistics Management and relevant.
  Rigging and lifting certificate preferred.

Skills and Experience:

1. Work Experience of at least 4 years and preferably 6 years in the terminal.
2. Able to maintain external contacts with vessels’ chief officers, RSPA pilots, and Outsource
3. Companies, mooring men, and truckers are concerned with all operational matters.
4. Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
5. Able to work with a team.
6. Able to work under pressure and extreme conditions.
