Barrick Tanzania Hiring Geology Technician, Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Geology Technician to join and grow our team.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all documented Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and Procedures, and ensure a safe working environment; every person goes home safe and healthy every day.
- Ensure Ore drive backsight, face marking and sampling are completed in a timely manner.
- Please ensure that underground truck operators notify the Dispatcher of the correct underground stockpile dumping location for each truck load, at all times, to prevent ore loss/dilution.
- Please make sure the drill core samples are collected in accordance with the SOP, including recording of all required information, routine quality assurance and quality control practices, reasonable sample dispatch, and reconciliation.
- Please make sure samples are taken/prepared to the highest standard before dispatch for analysis (avoid contamination, mixing, and missing samples).
- Ensure the timely delivery of accurate geological data, knowledge, reports, and documents, including underground daily and weekly reports.
- Contribute to achieving the appropriate business outcomes by ensuring the timely delivery of accurate geological data, high-quality samples, Good core recovery (reporting all irregularities to management), and a Proper data entry and filing system.
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
- Please ensure timely delivery of peer and management feedback.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the Geology Senior Technician and/or Mine
- Geologists may be required.

Qualification requirements:
- Geology Diploma from a recognized Institution or equivalent
- Hold a valid Tanzanian driving License
Experience and competencies needed:
- Over five (5) years of experience working in the mining industry, of which two (2) years have been working in an underground environment.
- Experience in power generation is an added advantage.
Skills/knowledge requirements:
- Hazard identification and Risk assessment
- Communication, Fluent in written and verbal English & Swahili
- Computer literate in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Geological underground face mapping, sampling, and ore tracking
