Akiba Commercial Bank Hiring Relationship Manager, Business Banking – 2 Posts, Join ACB as a Relationship Manager, Business Banking in Arusha and Ubungo Branches. ACB is seeking experienced and dynamic individuals to fill the position of Relationship Manager, Business Banking (RM-BB) at its Arusha and Ubungo branches.

This role focuses on managing and growing a portfolio of SME clients, offering tailored financial solutions, and ensuring high levels r satisfaction and business growth.

Role Responsibilities

The Relationship Manager, Business Banking, will play a critical role in driving the bank’s SME portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Driving the growth of SME deposits and loans, both in number and value.
  2. Recruiting SME clients and cross-selling bank products while maintaining strong business relationships with new and existing customers.
  3. Developing marketing and deposit mobilization strategies aligned with branch targets and bank strategy.
  4. Promoting ACB products and identifying business opportunities in the market.
  5. Formulating strategic plans to achieve lending and deposit targets.
  6. Managing a select portfolio of high-net-worth customers, including monitoring and controlling credit risk.
  7. Maintaining acceptable Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) levels.
  8. Ensuring high customer satisfaction and proactive relationship management.
  9. Implementing account strategies to secure and protect sole banking relationships.
  10. Tracking market trends and recommending improvements to customer service and product offerings.
  11. Upholding excellent customer service standards to increase market share and grow the customer base.
  12. Ensuring strict adherence to governance processes and internal/external compliance standards.
  13. Following up on non-performing accounts and implementing timely remediation plans.
  14. Ensuring audit outcomes consistently meet acceptable standards for SME Banking.
  15. Adhering to all ACB policies, procedures, and service standards.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Banking, or Business Administration (required).
  2. Master’s degree in Business Administration or Banking and Finance (added advantage).
  3. Minimum of 5 years in a relevant banking role, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
  4. Proven experience in sales and business development.
  5. Strong knowledge of SME banking products and lending cycle management.
  6. Background in credit underwriting and understanding of local market dynamics.
  7. Familiarity with banking policies and compliance frameworks.
  8. Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive performance.
  9. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and marketing skills.
  10. Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
  11. Sound understanding of modern relationship management strategies.
  12. Effective stakeholder engagement and organizational skills.
  13. Ability to develop and articulate business strategies.
  14. Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
